Your chance to have a say in the future of Forest School

15 06 2010

Dear Colleagues,

Re: Forming a National Governing Body for Forest School in the UK

The IOL (Institute for Outdoor Learning) Forest School Special Interest Group (SIG) and the Forest School Trainers Network would appreciate it if you could take the time to complete and return an online survey.

The survey is a consultation questionnaire intended to gather feedback from the wider Forest School community about forming a National Governing Body for Forest School in the UK.  Forest school has grown considerably in the last 10 years, we estimate there are probably over 4000 people holding some sort of Forest School qualification.  With the growing outdoor learning agenda and different standards of Forest School delivery, the need for more funding for Forest School the SIG and Trainers Network have decided to explore establishing a National Governing Body that could act as an umbrella professional organisation for the UK Forest School community.

It is still in the early stages of development, however, we felt it important to consult early in the process on the aims/purposes of a National Governing Body so the wider Forest School community can input their thoughts.

Please follow the link below to complete the survey. There are 9 questions and it should only take 10 minutes to complete.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this email to all colleagues with an interest in Forest School within the UK. It is important that as many practitioners as possible have the opportunity to share their views on these developments.

Please note that this survey will close on Sunday 18th July 2010

Thank you for your time and input.

Kind Regards

The Forest School NGB Steering Group

Part of the IOL Forest School Special Interest Group (SIG), and the National Forest School Trainers network.
