The National Forest p/t Education Officer Vacancy – Closing 17.10.2016

30 09 2016

Can you help us to provide opportunities for every child in The National Forest to experience outdoor learning?

The National Forest spans 200 square miles of the Midlands near the cities of Leicester, Derby and Birmingham. Situated in the heart of the country, it has seen a transformation of the landscape through the trebling of forest cover. It is now recognised as a national example of sustainable development through large-scale environmentally-led regeneration.

The long term vision for education in The National Forest is that every child, between the ages of 5 and 11 living in The National Forest, will have the opportunity to experience outdoor learning and all the benefits it can provide.

Could you help us better understand current activity, identify where gaps and opportunities exist and help take practical action to increase use of wooded learning spaces embedding outdoor learning across the Forest?

We’re looking for a person with the passion to drive this new project forward, with a keen interest in outdoor learning and the ability to engage with schools, enthuse about the benefits of outdoor education and make a step change in achieving our long term vision.
